Sherry Dever is a painter originally from Baltimore, Maryland - now residing in the coastal area of Ocean View, Delaware.

Sherry’s work is bold, full of energy and movement.  She’s mostly a self-taught artist but has studied painting and drawing at the Art League in Alexandria, Virginia.

Sherry’s work is deeply rooted in inspiration and emotion. She draws creative energy from everyday events, nature, close friends, and the broader artistic community—finding sparks in everything from a musician or fashion designer to the work of other painters. The emotion that comes from these places of inspiration you can see and feel in her work.

Her current body of work, explores the intersection between the fluid forms of the natural world and the structured precision of graphic design. In this series, she strips away the traditional gradients of classical botanical art, instead isolating the silhouettes, shadows, and contours of flora into distinct, flat planes of color. Deeply influenced by the mid-century Pop Art movement and the bold graphic language of traditional printmaking, she uses hard-edge painting techniques to give organic subjects a vibrant, unexpected energy. By contrasting punchy, saturated palettes with sharp outlines, Sherry aims to transform familiar botanicals into striking, stylized statements. Ultimately, this series is a celebration of nature reimagined through a clean, modern, and high-impact lens.
